Experience a little piece of paradise on the coast of Karnataka — a place unlike anything else in the area. Just 50 metres from the ocean, an idyllic retreat awaits you: a place to relax, stay, and savour the moment. Sleep in one of our stylish dome tents, surrounded by palms and coconut trees, and soak up the unique atmosphere of our little tropical oasis — beneath the open sky and immersed in nature.
The place
Parampalli is a village of coconut groves and fishing boats where the Seetha river slides into the Arabian Sea. No hotel strips. No beach clubs. Just palms, mangroves, and a shoreline you will usually have entirely to yourself.
Coastal Charm sits in the middle of it — a garden of young palms and banana trees, a shaded open-air kitchen, a pool to cool off in, and a short barefoot walk down to the sand. We built it for people who want the coast the way it actually is, with a proper bed, a cold drink and a good dinner waiting when they get back.
Why here
Nobody else on this coast offers glamping. You are not choosing between ten lookalike resorts — there is simply nothing else like it here.
Your own loungers and parasols on a beach that stays empty even at the weekend. Sunset over open water, every single evening.
A proper sit-down meal in a garden, with the sea breeze coming in. There is nowhere within ten kilometres where you can do this.
Made the way it is made in Italy — slow dough, baked straight on hot stone, no shortcuts. Ask anyone how far you would otherwise have to drive for it.
The stay
Two geodesic domes and four classic tents, all of them pitched among the coconut palms. Whichever you pick, it is not camping: a real bed with proper linen, and nothing overhead but canvas — so you wake up with the light and fall asleep to the sea.
The domes are the ones to book if you want the full thing: a king size bed, a wide arc of canvas overhead, your own shower and toilet, and power in the tent. The classic tents are simpler — a proper bed for two under the palms, with the shower and toilet block a short walk across the garden — and they cost a good deal less.
The table
The heart of the place is a 15 by 8 metre canopy over a garden — open on every side, cool through the afternoon, strung with light after dark. Lunch by the pool. Coffee in the shade. Dinner when the breeze turns and the sky goes orange over the palms.
You do not have to be staying with us to eat here. Come off the beach, come down from the highway, come for the evening — the kitchen is open to everyone.
“Probably the best pizza on the Karnataka coast.”
We are aware that is a bold thing to put on a website. Come and settle the argument — we start baking at six.
Around us
The sea in front, the Seetha backwaters behind, mangrove channels running between them. Everything below is within a few minutes of the gate.
Behind the camp the ground opens into paddy and palm groves — the walk people take before breakfast.
Loungers and parasols set out for our guests on a shore that runs for kilometres without a single deck chair on it.
Between the beach and dinner there is a pool in the shade of the palms. Cold water, no queue for a lounger, and nobody selling you anything.
Sea on one side, river on the other. Pick whichever sunset you feel like — both are a short walk.
The ferry to the basalt columns of St Mary’s Island, and Malpe’s fish market and beach front.
The Sri Krishna Matha temple, the food that made Udupi cuisine famous, and a morning market worth getting up for.
The pool, the shade, a book, and a kitchen that will bring you lunch whenever you are ready for it.
A boat for sunset, a driver for the day inland, a pickup from the airport. We book it, and we add nothing on top.
Explore
Beyond the palms and the warm sands of our little coastal retreat, Karnataka unfolds in all its beauty. From quiet beaches and winding backwaters to ancient temples and lush landscapes, there is plenty to discover within easy reach.
Explore the tranquil Saligrama backwaters and mangroves by boat, wander along the nearby beaches, or watch the sun set where river and ocean meet at Kodi Beach. A little further north, Maravanthe offers one of Karnataka’s most spectacular coastal landscapes, with the Arabian Sea on one side and the Souparnika River on the other.
For a taste of the region’s culture, head south to Udupi, home to the revered Sri Krishna Matha and a rich culinary tradition. Continue to Malpe and take a boat to St Mary’s Island, famous for its striking natural basalt formations. Or climb the hill at Kaup Lighthouse for sweeping views across the Arabian Sea.
For those looking to venture further inland, the Western Ghats offer a completely different side of Karnataka — lush forests, rivers and sacred places such as the Mookambika Temple at Kollur.
Whether you spend the day exploring or simply return to the shade of the coconut palms, the coast is yours to discover — at your own pace.

Good to know
No, and no. The dome tents come with a real bed, proper bedding, towels and a private bathroom with hot water. Bring what you would bring to a hotel — plus a swimsuit and something for the sun.
October to May is dry, warm and made for the beach — December to February is the sweet spot. The monsoon (June to September) is dramatic and green, but the sea is rough and we run a reduced service. Ask us before booking in those months.
Yes. The garden kitchen is open to day guests. If you are coming as a group, message us ahead so we have the oven hot and a table ready.
Yes — the garden is enclosed, the beach is shallow and wide, and we can add an extra bed. Children under 10 stay free of charge, and that holds even when we set up the extra bed. Children need to be supervised around the pool at all times.
Auto-rickshaws and taxis reach us easily from Saligrama and Udupi, and we can arrange scooter hire. For airport or station transfers, just tell us your arrival time when you book.
Very doable. Six tents means a group of up to twelve can take the whole place — birthdays, small celebrations, a family weekend. Tell us what you have in mind and we will put together a price.
